So what phones have y'all owned that have led you to consider buying a Vigor?

I didn't get my first cell phone until 2004, and my first smartphone came in 2009.

I got my first cell phone in 1997, and first smartphone in 2010.

    Analog phones:
    Moto MicroTac 650e
Nokia 252 (black on VZW, silver on CellularOne for a month)

    Digital (CDMA) phones:
Moto Timeport (silver StarTac with 3 color display)
    Nokia 5185i
    Moto v60c
Moto v265 (4 - screen kept going out)
    Moto v276
    Moto v325
    Moto w385
    Moto w755
    Moto w766 Entice

    Smartphones:
HTC Droid Incredible (current as portable media player in place of ipod)
HTC Thunderbolt (swapped after 2 months)
    HTC Droid Incredible 2 (current)

My first phone, the MicroTac, was leased (didn't have to buy them at that time) for $4 a month. The nice thing about leasing was you could go to a different phone at any time. That phone was a tank, with a 10 character 7 segment display (think alarm clock). The extended battery was 2.5" x 5" x .5" and weighed by itself a little more than the Thunderbolt. The MicroTac could store around 9 phone numbers.

When I got the Nokia 252 which could store 75 phone numbers it was like a godsend, no more carrying around a list of phone numbers! The Timeport was borrwed from a friend until I was elligible for a new phone.

Now if you really want a laugh, my boss carried a Motorola brick (like Zack Morris had on the early Saved By The Bell, about the size of a 900mHz cordless phone) until 2005. That phone had a 3W radio in it. I used to kid him that when we went to a hospital to work on their call lights that it was interrupting patient's pacemakers! What a difference a decade makes!

I started with a flip phone from lg I can't even remember what it was called. I had 2 or 3 more flip phones and then switched to the original storm and then the curve, then I got a droid eris, moto droid, samsung fascinate, htc thunderbolt and hopefully the vigor next.

I'm only going back as far as I can remember:

Samsung flip-phone (don't remember model, several more basic phones before this one)
    LG Envy
    Storm
    Dinc

    Here is what I can remember;

First phone was a Samsung flip phone on Sprint
    LG on Verizon
    Nokia on AT&T
    Moto on AT&T
Moto (x2) on Nextel (work provided)
    Moto on Verizon
    Moto on Verizon
Blackberry World Phone (8400 I think)
    Droid Incredible

Next up for me is either the Nexus Prime or Vigor. I'm currently leaning Prime.

    LG VX3200
    LG VX8300
    LG enV2
    Blackberry Curve 8530
    LG Ally

Oddly enough, I have no particular attachment to LG.. I'm a mid-tier buyer and LG has always been strong in the mid-tier Verizon market..

    Hoping to move up soon!

Started with a cell and a pager back in the mid-90s. Had some Pre-flip phones back in the day with Cell-One maybe even a company before that...owned a bunch of flips...I remember the Boulder...those 'tough phones' that weren't so tough...got the Incredible a few days before its release and have been using it since. Getting the Vigor asap!

I'm not going to list all of my phones I've had, but I did want to share that my first phone was back in 1993 and it was the original Motorola Brick-Phone!

I started with that same phone the same year on the job. Then after 6 different dumb phones till the (POC) LG Dare then the HTC Incredible which I still like very much. The HTC Vigor is looking real good. Hope it is released even better than thought.

Carrying it around in my pocket, the splinters were INSANE! I tried an otterbox but they hadn't invented polymer plastic back then so the otterbox was made of wood which gave me even MORE splinters...

In all seriousness, I can't remember that far back but I know I had a couple of those early phones that came in monochromatic black and green, and I had a few before then. My last phone is/was a thunderbolt and I'm just hopeful that HTC has learned from the great Thunderbolt experiment.

The enV2 was pretty good wasn't it? I've always loved a good keyboard.

My first mobile phone was a 2 meter car phone around 1975 or so. I went to a hand held unit in 1978. Went to a cell phone with the brick and had many dumb phones along the way. First smart phone was the BB Storm and then my current Dinc 1. I'm very excited about adding the Vigor to this list.
