Help Phone locking up! Please help

Today my Droid is going crazy. I can't make any outgoing phone calls but I can receive them. The phone just won't dial. It gives me a blank screen. Some of my apps are working but others such as web browser are not. I am able to text though. I have removed the last few applications I installed in case it was a conflict with software but still no luck. I pulled the battery and rebooted a few times with no luck either. I am about ready to return this phone as much as I want to love it. I need it to work well as a phone and don't think a major consumer product like this should be so challenging to use. Any suggestions?
