Is there any way to set the A2 to only accept incoming calls--but no text/email, etc.? I'd like to be able to get calls say, between 8PM and 6AM, but don't want the thing buzzing all night with texts, email, updates, and the like. Possible?

    Thanks, CG

I think if Data is coming in everything will "work". But you could set up a 'night' profile that has everything silenced but calls I would imagine.

You can go under settings and turn data off at night. Also, under Settings>Battery & Data manager>Battery Mode>Custom Battery Saver you can set up stuff.

Unless I am missing something I can not find how to do this either. With my BB torch it was a piece of cake but with this phone it appears to have a very limited functions when it comes to the ring's and notifications. Kind of missing the BB....

All i want to be able to do is set the phone so at night or when I want to it only rings when I get calls and makes no other noices for email, text, or anything else. And i don't want to have to go make changes in 5 different spots.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I won't pick up my A2 for another week or two, so I can't speak specifically of the device, but I know with some Gingerbread devices, you can select "quiet hours" and determine what does or doesn't come through. An app like this might accomplish what you're looking for, too. If not, maybe one of the "related apps" might?

ETA: Forgot about an app like Timeriffic, which I have used before and is a fantastic little app. I used to use it to turn my phone to silent (and my wifi off) when I went to work, and turn back on as I left. If you want something a bit more advanced than that, Locale, Tasker, or Llama can all do some amazing things, with varying price tags attached.
