Help Phone sends text messages to all contact numbers!

Hi, Names Damian.

Did a search on this topic, but found no answer.

I have a few contacts where i have a home phone and cell phone number stored.

When i send a text message to said contact(s), the phone sends it to all of the numbers. Is there anyway i can set a specific number for each contact to send texts to?

This is annoying because i later get texts saying "thanks for using landline!"...

I get a choice to select a # no matter how I go about it.

You should be able to set one of the numbers as a default for texting under the contact's info.

Are you sure you have that persons cell number added as a Mobile number?

The two posts above me just made me laugh even harder than I was when I read the original post. Is this a joke?

Nah, not a joke. I was sincerely trying to help but wasn't going to give up a screenshot of a real contact. That song popped in my head, so I added Jenny and her number, then went and found the music CD cover and added it as an avatar hehe.

As a result, the damn song has been stuck in my head all day.

No joke. Step by step.

->messaging icon
-> new message
->"to" put in multiple contacts
->contact A, B, C, D
->"message area"
->send icon

Contacts A, B, C, D all have a mobile and home phone number.

Once message is sent, i get an auto reply from number 5264, "Your message was successfully delivered to an answering machine or voicemail at XXX-XXXX. Thanks for using Text to Landline!"

How can i set a default text messaging number?

I use GO SMS and if I touch on a contact's photo that I've sent an SMS it gives me an option to call, SMS, email or gTalk. If I touch SMS it gives me a choice of numbers that contact has entered for it and a Remember this choice I can check.

even if a # is set as a home or work when u sms
you select the #'s it goes to.
i could put countless #'s under a name but typing that
name is only going to show that list from which u selecy
which to text.
unless you are running the SNAFU rom then please
send it to me I'd love to check it out

In the Contacts app, when you tap somebody it shows all of their contact data with little buttons for text/call/whatever next to each individual entry. Try sending things that way if you can adjust to it.
