Huawei Ascend G300. Android 4.0.3 Orange. Switched 'ON' and screen displays 'Emergency call. How do i get out of it?

Either the SIM is bad, it's not inserted, it's not a phone that will accept an Orange SIM - or the phone is defective.
A phone that's not registered to an account still has to be able to make emergency calls, and that's the position your phone is in now. Something's keeping it from registering.
