Help Phone wont power on??

Alright lads, new lad here, just joining a couple of forums for me phone so you'll probably start seeing me around as I'm interested in emus, apps and stuff so hopefully I'll enjoy my stay.

Made the decision to upgrade to a HTD Desire HD phone (computer really), which I received today. Was unable to power on and I've not been able to power the bugger up. Removed the plastic thing that seperates it I have tried all night to get the cover on (seems to be some of the problem) and still no, I've emailed the vender and gunna see if I can get a replacement.

Yes, only the correctly placed cover pushes the battery properly against the contacts.
No smart design of HTC with a such great phone.

Right somehow I got it pretty much on and it all looks flushed. I held the power and nothing, plugged in, no lights? Nothing - seems like it's dead/bricked.
