phone wont switch to widescreen when using keyboard

ok so my girlfriend has this phone...i havent been able to try fixing it hands on but she wouldnt know how to find an answer so i tried. apparently when she uses the keyboard. it doesnt switch to landscape mode and i'd like to know how to fix that. can anyone help me/her?

dumb question but is she rotating the phone the right way around? also I think landscape mode only works for certain functions.

yes she is rotating it the right way, and its not working when sending text messages

check settings > Orientation. That has to be checked for the phone to switch into landscape properly.

and if that doesn't fix it. it has a bad sensor. take it back to get a new one with her and make sure the sensor works.

to test open up your browser and turn it so the trackball is in your right hand....if it doesn't turn then houston...you have a problem.

Try shaking to loosen up the sensor. I'm serious too.

all apps i've used allowed ladsacpe mode if you use the keyboard otherwise the app dev get low reviews and slammed with you suck posts and the app sinks right to the bottom real fast.
