I'm on my Droid RAZR and I've hated the new default gallery ever since the OS update. Is there any good gallery app out there that is like the old gallery (everything consolidated together, sorted in descending order by time taken)? Seems like a simple enough thing, but I can't find one that works for me.

It's still diving it up by different groups (which is what I don't want) i.e. download, Camera, Edited, Screenshots, etc.

Have you tried moving all your pictures to the same folder, and setting that folder as the default in your camera app? Seems like that would solve your issue...

I hated Gallery and was attracted to QuickPic and have used it for quite a while. QuickPic allows you to display stuff Your way.

Those groups that you are referring to are the Folders that contain the images. That's the way I think about the organization so that makes total sense to me.

To display it the ways I think you want it in QuickPic click the "picture" in the upper right-hand corner and choose List. You might give the other options a try. I prefer Stack.

(There is a Donate button in the QuickPic Settings/About.)

It's not properly sorting them by date descending/ascending. I know for a fact some of these are newer than others yet they are not being sorted as such. How come?

In QuickPic click the "picture" in the upper right-hand corner and choose List. You might give the other options a try. This lists the folders in a stack and shows the data/time of the most recent change within that folder.

    Select the top folder.

Hit the Settings button and choose Sort then choose by date descend

Going back to where you started the folders are now listed. The oldest image in each folder is the picture shown in the list. The oldest picture taken will be found in the first folder of the list.

You have to set the sort order for each folder.

This comes close to what you wanted.

Yeah that's definitely not working Thom. There's a naked pic of my ex-gf as the first picture taken, and I know it's a few months old (I've taken a bunch of pics in the last couple weeks at least that should be ahead of it in date). Is it f*@ked up because it came from a different folder that I had to move?

I think the problem is it's trying to sort by "date UPDATED" instead of "date TAKEN". Why is this happening & how can I fix it?

Something to try ... no guarantee ...

In QuickPic open a folder (like Camera) and hit the Settings button and select Fix date.

There is another photo management app called JustPictures. It's not loaded with editing features, but it does manage your photos well. Info from Google Play found Here.

Anyone else know? The "fix date" function is doing absolutely nothing.
