I deleted a couple of photos from my camera folder earlier today and have looked up and tried every possible way of recovering them.

The issue seems to be that I cannot convert the S4 to a mass storage device so when trying to recover these photos the phone isn't showing as a drive on the computer i.e. C:/F:/G: etc

Does anyone know how to change the phone to this as then I should be able to recover the photos using either Stellar Phoenix Photo Recoverr, Wpndershare Dr.Fone for Andriod or Recuva.

Please help. It's driving me potty!

No, starting with Ice Cream Sandwich and by extension, Jellybean, USB Mass Storage isn't available. If they were on the MicroSD card as versus the internal memory, you should be able to simply take the MicroSD card out and plug it into your computer and do the recovery there.

If the photos are stored on a flashcard then you can probably get them back. Just make sure you stop using that card right away, because you can risk writing over your "deleted" pictures. You can use almost any software to get the photos back fairly easily

USB mass storage is not available...only MTP. If you root your phone you can use USB mass storage...there is an app to switch between the two modes.
