The Evo 3D does NOT record at 1080, but only at 720 in 2D mode. They had to issue a correction to the specs about the time it was released. This was one of the differences that I had noted with the Photon. The Evo 3d will Play 1080, but will not record it. They may of course change this with an update, but not now.

It is amazing how when an error gets out like that, how far it will propagate, and the correction never does.

Wow, I didn't even realize that was an error with the 3D specs...and I was posting and following the updates until it finally got released.

I could be wrong, but I believe that is correct, 2 MP for 3D.

I do think that the email folders feature on the Photon is very cool.

the 3D image resolution IS something like 2 mega-pixels. The 3D display resolution I believe to be inccorect though. You only lose half the resolution horizontally, and theoretically don't lose any vertical... That's not how the screen works. Now, if HTC automagically reduces the vertical resolution to match--I don't know...

The 3D supports half side-by-side and half upper-lower. You can only lose 1/2 through interlacing in one dimension - same as a 3D TV unless supporting full side-by-side. (and 1/2 into each eye vs. full into 2 eyes - there's a reason that 3D doesn't look low-res ;) it's all about the visual cortex)

BTW - qHD is 1/2 HD in both dimensions. Why you'd want full HD on phone display escapes me. So actual loss of effective resolution in 3D - none.
