it sounds like a carrier issue to me...if you were getting them and now your not, it doesnt seem like it would be the rom itself....i mean i guess it might be possibly but if you start getting them again then i wouldnt think it would be the rom....i know some roms have issues with mms messages...i know when i was on Kinged Shooter Rom, mms wouldnt work at all but you could send sms....also ive had issues with mms even on the stock rom....thats why it leads me to think that its something to do with sprint itself....and your right, they are no help...usually i get the same excuse..."oh well were doing updates" ...yah..ok...so i gotta pay for something i cant use when i want to....but hey...thats sprint for ya lol....but anywho...you could try and just wipe the cache and dalvik cache or perform a fresh install of the rom and see if that works...but if it was me i think the first thing i would try is d/l a different sms/mms app...like go sms pro, or handcent...something along those lines and see if they come through on there....but like i said, i think its a sprint issue cuz i've had similar issues like that before too...

edit...and i just realized your a senior member with alot of posts so i probly just rambled a bunch of stuff that you already know lmao...sorry man..my bad...

another edit....oh i just remembered....ima tell you the "sprint fix all issues" way....take your battery out with the phone on...let it sit for 10 to 15 seconds...put the battery back in and power up...and wahhhla...your problem is solved lol...i swear to god, they really do tell you that...im not making it up lol....

did you check in your message settings what your limits are set to?? i know if you got them to low and at the limit, they will automatically be deleted when you get new ones...

Not sure if the mms pictures are stored on your phone until you download them. I only get like 3 a year and those are usually from my daughter. Nothing worth keeping *L* if they are stored in a folder you could write a simple bash script to copy them over to your sd card. It would look something like this:

cp mms/downloads/*.* /mnt/sdcard/mymmspics/

You would want to set it somewhere that it would run automatically and i'm not sure how to do that on a android device. maybe a third party program could help not sure there is one to autosave pictures to the sd card but maybe something that could let you schedule when to run certain apps and maybe put a bash in that.

yeah, i have looked at the settings, and i dont really mind if the old ones are being deleted... matter of fact, thatd be just fine with me if they were, but im not receiving new ones is my main issue. im gonna try that terminal command and see what it does too. Thanks both of you for puttin in youre respective 2 (or more) cents

did you try going back to the stock rom and see if its still doing it?? if it does or doesnt work on there at least you'd know if its sprint or the rom your using...

Have you tried clearing cache/data from Settings>Applications>Manage Applications? I've had that problem before due to a bad data wipe when flashing a ROM (MIUI usually), and sometimes on CM7 just at random which would cause me to reflash it again when all else failed.

Also, Handcent SMS lets you copy MMS to SD using a long press on the pic. You DO have to receive it first though...
