Places Directory uses GPS location to determine your approximate location, and then returns results based on this information. Right when you open the application, you will notice a list of popular places, such as bars, coffe shops, gas stations, and even medical treatment. Once you make your selection, it will pull up a very accurate listing of the places around you, generally ordered from closest to farthest.
On the other hand, let's assume you've decided where you want to go, but you don't see that place listed in the app. Simply hit the menu key on your device, and then tap "Search" to manually search for the business. You can then pull up reviews, photos, and any other information stored for that particular business, or write your own as well. This also works well for people who travel alot, as you can even pick a location on the map and get search results and directions based on that point. Then, when you get to your destination, it's all right there waiting for you.
