Plant Vs Zombies HD

Apparently there is an actual pvz HD. I just happen to be Googling and found various sites having an leaked version for tegra 2 devices. I happen to try it and it crashed when trying to load past the first screen with grass rolling out. It was definitely HD and music was exact. So it seems popcap on purpose gave us the worst looking port ever to sell the game nvidia powered devices first. I tried using chainfire btw on my Nook but it didn't take I guess. A user reported it worked using chain fire on a galaxy S and SII. Looks like the money called Popcap to android Amazon's & more importantly maybe Nvidia's. I guess fans don't matter anymore to certain big name developers though we'vebeen waiting for over a year. We will see.

if they dont put plant v zombies on android market soon Im gonna be pissed, they posted a long time ago on twitter that they were in the process of putting it on android and I mean really how hard is it to put a game that is already on itunes on the droid market, popcap is just a bunch of assholes

The issue probably stems from the fact that the game is 80MB and the Android Market limits APK's to 50MB. So they will need to strip stuff out to fit within the 50MB. But the better option would be to release a small APK in the market that downloads the remaining files to the storage. Either way it's a bit of extra work to do and we all know how slow PopCap is.

So they went through the trouble of porting it to the Mac App Store (as in MacBook, iMac, etc) and not for the 1 billion Android users? And why cap at 80 megs? OTA issue? If so, there are tons of games in Apple's app store that are nearing 1 gig in size. These will never make it to Android market? Pity.

It's the OTA issue exactly. There is no Android equivalent of an App store that can download to your computer and then push said app to your phone.

Even if there were 1 billion Android users I bet they still make more money via the App store versus the Android market so I wouldn't hold my breath for an HD version for Android, just yet. Maybe when a retina display friendly version hits the iPhone4. They developers will go where the money is first.

I have to admit the iPad version of PvZ looks great. I would like something like that on my Cappy.

PvZ HD APk is only 48 MB and I'm pretty sure its legit. Only problem for me is its tegra 2 built. I can get the game to loading but it crash on my Nook Color using chainfire to make it seem like I have a tegra 2 chip. It was definitely HD though. Wish someone else would try to see if pop cap is just holding out. Also every interview with popcap they was playing it on a android tablet and it looked good its no way they wouldnt notice the games not HD. I'm sure there version was. An actual tetra 2 devices would be nice for checking this out but someone got it working with Galaxy S and chainfire.

If it gets to the point where companies on purposely do there worst effort just to say there is a THD version or similar which in reality can be played in HD by a number devices its going to make me sick. If you want an exclusive just say it but don't act like its the only chip that can run the on top of that release a sloppy port as an insult.

I was initially upset when a THD version of Guerrilla Bob was released after the regular game had been out for just a month. The THD version didnt even show up on the Tegra Zone until it was released.

Then i remembered that i didnt even like the original Guerrilla Bob anyway, so at least i saved a dollar.

I actually don't mind which version of PvZ we get. What bothers me, is that PvZ doesn't have survival mode.

You can't make any real use of the advanced items, given most of the content ends too quickly. This is disappointing.

PvZ does have survival mode on the iPad verion. I play it quite often on my iPad2.

I think its stupid that they have all these different app stores, eventually different app stores are just going to be like different gaming consols, soon only some games will be on specific app stores and we are going to have to pay to download and use the app stores. just as if we were buying different games for xbox360 or ps3

It's not as easy as that...

Looks pretty bad on my transformer tablet. Hopefully they patch it hd version soon.

The amazon version looks good on my phone but bad on my eeepad but the HD version looks amazing but it still has the lag when getting new plants . Had to download both from a secret site as amazon does not work in the uk. I'm waiting to buy the full version from market as I don't like buying apps from outside the market (Gameloft) I like to have the ease of getting them from the same place when I get a new device. I just hope PopCap get peggel HD out soon aswell
