I bought a movie last week through the Google Play Movies & TV app, with the intention of downloading it to my Tab 3 onto the SD card to watch later in a location where I wouldn't have wifi. However I can't find any option to save the video to the external SD card and there wasn't enough room on the primary storage for the file.

Is there something I'm missing here?

    Thanks!

Have you tried using a file manager to simply locate then copy the file(s)/directory to the SD card?

There are plenty of free file managers on Play.

If I buy the movie through the app on the tablet and start to download it, the app only tells me there's not enough space available - it doesn't give me the option of using the external SD card. I shouldn't have to download the movie on my Mac and put it on the card.

I disagree - I think, after more reading and research, that it's one more step by Google to forcing us to keep everything in the cloud and stream everything, which is a disservice as far as I'm concerned. I like and use the cloud services, but think this must have been an oops because it would be a problem even on the Nexus line.

Yeah google really want us using the cloud and not using SD cards but we arent ready for that. Google should give us fast reliable free mobile data if they want it that way then ill happily play it their way
