My son has got a smartphone and for some reason play store is playing up where now its only showing half of what it should do.

So now son cant download any apps or update any apps.

its like play store has almost been wiped from the phone.

i have done a reset of the phone but with no join at all.

any ideas on what could have happened?

1. Turn on airplane mode and turn off wifi.
2. Uninstall any google play store updates.
3. Run google play store - WITH AIRPLANE MODE STILL ON and WIFI OFF.
4. Turn off the "Auto-update apps" google play store option.
5. Turn off airplane mode, enable wifi, and see what happens.

Cant get that to work as when i try to go into play store its asking me to sign into google account so can not get into play store settings to Turn off Auto update apps.

when i try to log in it then comes up with no wifi even when there is and i did it with Airplane mode on as well.

Hi tablet2011,

What kind of smartphone does your son have? Has the Play Store ever worked on it or is this a new "trick" it has learned? Let us know so we can provide better assistance. :)

My son has the Huawei Ascend Y330.

Play store worked ok up to about 2 weeks ago and have had problems ever since.

i though it may have been a App that did it but im not sure.

Long shot perhaps but it may be worth clearing 'Data' and the 'Cache' of Google Play Store. If doing those 2 do not work try uninstalling the updates as well.

I don't know what version of the OS you are on but on my 4.1.2 version I can do all the above in Settings/Application Manager. When you are there, move the screen to the left to show the 'All' tab and the GSP app.
