Root Please Help!! Cant get into recovery mode..

I bootunlocked my phone for htcdev.com then i flashed recovery v5.0.2.6 that didnt worked( my phone restarted when i tried to get in!!) afterwhich i used v5.0.2.8 and flashed again now its still not working, phone screen goes black and after some time it restarts and behave like nothing happened
1).wat should i do people!!
2).Boot-unlock status is ***unlocked**
3). I'm running 2.3.5
4). Software number=2.26.707.2
5).Htc Sense 2.1
plz plz i really want to root my phone

I'm guessing from your other post that you have a HTC Wildfire S?

Edit: Sorry but i managed to get into recovery mode however when i select something Clockwork Recovery Only Shows a Hat!!!(the background image only) So wat should i do??!
