You can unlock it with your Gmail password and account.

Tap on the 'Forgot password?' option

Enter your Gmail address and password, which you use on your phone.
Follow the steps provided by Google
Once you finish those steps, you can enter a new password for your Android phone, and unlock it
Your phone should be now unlocked

What's wrong with providing an answer in this thread for all to see if you have one?

It may benefit others searching for a solution in the future.

It's a 4 digit pin code. It will only go to that screen. I'm able to answer calls but that's it.

    oh no that's bad.
have you tried inputting the wrong code many times?

if you input the wrong pin what does it say?

I'd like to help you get around this with out it costing you money.
the fido unlocks guy will want to remotely root your device to unlock it.
but he charges money for doing so.
we don't look kindly on that.

if all else fails I believe you can get your phone back by factory data reset, as long as you know the email and stuff associated with the device.
    but you said
and a reset will wipe the phone.

let me check a few things real quick...

    wait i got it....

    go here
    https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager

and sign in with the same email you have on your phone,
click the image of your fone like your trying to find your lost phone,
then choose the option to lock your phone remotely.

it may let you change the lock password and even display a message on the phones screen, that's the option you want.
see can you remotely lock it and set a new password NOTE password not pin number,
you may get out with out paying fido.

Bypass Android Lock Screen on Android Lollipop (and Above)
For devices running on Android Lollipop and above, you get to change your phone lock code with the app called Device Manager / Find Phone which is shipped with almost every Android phone these days. The instructions to do that have been listed below:

Step 1 – On recent devices, Device Manager (or Find Phone) comes pre-installed. You can use this utility if your phone is connected to the internet.

Step 2 – Access Android Device Manager through your computer via this link.

Step 3 – Through the options given, select Lock. We will attempt to create a new lock code and change the older one.

Step 4 – The lock option will take you to fill a password for your device. Once done, your old lock code would be changed.

This method requires a working internet connection on the phone itself. Also, there is a delay of few minutes between entering the new password and it being actually changed on the device.

    @Fisher0015

you may end up having to reset your device....

it's sad :( but, good news is that if you're all synced with google , facebook etc.
most of your messages will come back after you sign in to your accounts again.
