Root please help with flashing recovery image to adb!!!?????

guys i have a rooted 2.1 eris and adb is all set up i get all the way down to the commands and the last one: adb shell flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img says file not found wtf am i doing wrong
any help would be great!!!! and appreciated

this is a shot in the dark, but, did you mount the sd card on your pc and make sure the recovery image is in fact there?

yes mount sd copy both files yhen unmount turm usb debug on and wah la
