I just flashed a Kings Rom unleashed r3 rom onto my Evo and it won't go farther than the animated scene with a robot holding a tommy gun. It just keep repeating itself. I have flashed a few roms before and never had any problems. Can someone walk me through fixing this please?

    Additional info:
    flashed rom with rom manager
Did not opt to wipe data, only dalvik
was going from cyanogen mod rom

    welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
moved your thread to the rooting section.
first off never use rom manager. it is way to buggy and will cause problems like this. go into recovery and wipe only dalvik cache and cache and reboot. be patient as it needs to be build dalvik cache up.

Power off by removing the battery, reinstall the battery, then hold volume down+power til the white bootloader screen comes up. Use the volume keys to move to recovery and power to select. Depending on you recovery you might have menu options for wipe and wipe advanced. Let us know what you have and what recovery you have.

Awesome guys. I am in clockwork mod recovery right now. So do I need to just wipe my dalvik and data? Or should I restore to a backup?

at this point i would re-wipe dalvik cache, cache, and data and use the superwipe and re-flash your rom.

also again switch recoveries to amon ra.

I have no clue how to do that....I will have to dig into that link you posted. I managed to get cyanogen mod back up and running. To avoid this happening again in the future, should I just wipe everything? I never wiped data when changing cyanogen mod roms and it always worked fine.

with cm7 that works because the system framework does not change much. but going from aosp roms like cm7 to sense roms, you really need a clean environment to have the new rom to be flashed into. i would definitely recommend that you follow the guide as far as flashing goes. for me i wipe dlvik cache, cache, and data three times the i flash the superwipe then i flash the rom. it is a bit overkill but i never have any issues flashing a rom.

were you able to get kings unleashed on your phone? have you tried the gingerbread roms? you might want to checkout mikg2.5. it is a pretty sweet rom and extremely fast. just make a nandroid backup and try it out.

I was actually thinking the mikg series with more freedom kernel would be ideal for my wife. I just have to convince her to let me root her phone.

If I see one more white HTC screen while using her stock gb EVO I think I will explode.
