Please Help!

Just got the HTC One M8 phone after being an iPhone user for years.
Really like the phone, however there is one thing that's REALLY annoying me.

Whenever I move my thumb over to the left of the keyboard to press the letter a, s, q, w or shift key, the phone automatically drops the text down to the next line, starts a new sentence with a capital letter.

Is there PLEASE a way to turn this off?

Hello.

I was simulating your issue and I think the reason why the cursor moves down and starts with a capital letter is you unknowingly touching the enter key. If it's not the issue, please let me know.

Easiest way for us to help you is if you have another device to record a short video of what is happening so we can see the behavior and how you are pressing the keys.

use the trace feature - basically HTC's swype. Works really well

Tried turning the trace thing on in settings. It says it's on but doesn't seem to be working?! Still have to type each letter individually.

If you hand the phone to someone else and they type on it are they able to reproduce the results? If you're 100% sure that you're not hitting that enter key with the palm of your hand as you reach across, then take the phone back where you got it and show them and get a new one.
