I downloaded a PNG using the phone browser. It goes to /sdcard/download. Works fine

I try and copy it to /scard/icons. Now, the image takes about 30 seconds to show up, if I go into the gallery app it doesn't show at all, and trying to use it as an icon in LauncherPro fails.

Put it back in /sdcard/download, works fine

    Whats up with that?

quirky things in all operating systems.
Do you have a directory on sdcard named /launcherproicons? if so, move the icon there, see what happens.

Your phone hasn't run mediascanner again to show files. Reboot your phone (it runs when the phone boots) and it should be in gallery :D. Also, if you plan on doing this often and don't want to reboot all the time get a rescan media app in market. Here's the one I use Rescan Media ROOT.
