It knows about them because a search turns up said events, but they are not showing. OTOH, it does show "US Holidays".
I tried to work around the problem by adding an explicit synch to my gMail calendar - noting the warning from PI that it might create duplicate entries.
Sure enough, my gMail events got shown but the holidays were doubled up: One instance of each holiday being attributed to "US Holidays" and the other to "US Holidays (PeteCress@gMail.com)".
So I backed out the explicit synch and am back to seeing one each of holidays from "US Holidays" and being able to search my gMail calendar events but not see them.
I'm thinking some kind of filter, but my mind has become boggled by the PI3 UI.
Calendar Manager | PeteCress@gMail.com is checked - as is US Holdays.
