Poor Battery Backup on Note 10.1/800

Hi,

I have a Galaxy Note 10.1 (called Galaxy Note 800 here in India), purchased sometime in October 2012. I am running the default Android 4.0.4.

For the past few weeks, I have found that the battery backup has become very poor. Earlier, I was able to use the tablet for about 2-3 days without having to charge it (on 3G, not WiFi of course) but now on a 3G data plan in which I mostly use Whatsapp and occasionally check mail or take notes, I find that the tablet has to be charged every 24 hours. I keep monitoring the background applications and RAM usage, and I find that clearing the RAM doesn't particularly help.

Isn't this unusual for a 7000 mAh battery? Should I get this looked at, by taking the tablet to a service center?

Has anyone here faced such a sudden drop in the battery backup?

Thanks in advance!

What you should look at is what is using the battery. First of all start with something like GSAM Battery Monitor.

Thanks for your reply. I have added screenshots from the GSAM Battery Monitor (free version), which I just installed a few minutes ago.

What do you think?

Screen on for over 8 hours. You are not going to get much more than that. Lower brightness and turn features on that will make screen use less energy.

With screen-on, you are not going to get much more than 10 hours.
