Same here. Anyone else?Has anyone experienced their pop3 email stopping checking for email?
I have the email check frequency set to 5 minutes. However, when I hit refresh this evening, it downloaded 10 messages.
This is the third time I have experienced this.
I didn't care for the built in pop client. There's a fork called k-9 mail that seems to work much better. The beta version has some quirkiness on the moment when in landscape, but it's IMHO the best client available on Android right now.
Cool! So far I am liking it (still setting up all of my accounts). But it's driving my anti-virus NUTS.I didn't care for the built in pop client. I do use Advanced Task Killer but I have it set up to 'ignore' the email app.Just a thought, is Taskiller or similar program killing an essential task?
I downloaded K9 over the weekend per a suggestion from this forum. It works quite a bit better than the default POP3 mail application. I still notice that it doesn't 100% reliably retrieve my messages every 15 minutes but it's a lot better than the default app.
How many accounts are you dealing with? I noticed that they pull at the same time and that can create a lock up where it logs out of one when another starts. Same problem with my Touch Pro2... I had to set different accounts to different intervals. Very strange...
Actually, that's another feature of the new version of K9 that I forgot to mention. If you're using IMAP, it uses the IMAP-IDLE technique for real time email. If you have this set up, it doesn't poll your email regularly, but rather emails are pushed actively to your phone when they arrive.
