I got my G1 =D And I really enjoy it already.
I installed this Terminal Emulator. And well its wicked.
But I kinda want some apps from Linux that I use in my Daily life(eg for my Job, Fun and Profit;)) on there.

I am wondering, witch of these tools are already ported or are project groups on at the moment to port? (I know I can google this aswell but my question gets deeper)

I also wonder, if I should root my phone for this.
Since I don't want to do ANYTHING that T-Mobile would consider breaking the contract. (Ive been messed up with that before)

I really would love to see:
    - Radare Ported (I am sure this will happen)
    - Nmap
    - Metasploit (So, Ruby has to be ported too..)
    - Ruby
    - Perl
    - Nemesis (Package Injector, requires libcap)
    - LibCap ( Requires Root.. :/ )

So, are these tools ported? Or would I have to get more time off and port them myself..
Or are there like replacement programs for these?

Re the T-Mobile thing ... mutliple people and some that are T-Mobile have said TMO is not concern with you rooting ... even if you have to return the phone for warranty repair .... but if you are concerned .. you can also UNRoot the phone ... Guides are in my signature below ...

Good lunk on the linux apps ... and keep us posted on your finding and share the best and the worst of it ...
