Just a thought, but couldn't a couple of folding well placed mirrors create a front facing camera. Sure everything would be reversed, but it would solve that problem. Also is someone could manufacture a case that has a sliding cover for the camera. It is always so exposed and over time could deteriorate picture quality. Maybe the mirrors could be the cover. Not bad huh?

Nevertheless, the OP has a pretty bright idea that I've yet to hear about elsewhere. I have absolutely no need/want for a FF camera, but that is a cool idea.
