I'm getting the bgp forced close message after uninstalling (but saving) some apk's, like all the weather related and facebook related ones. Oddly, one of these things is causing the above noted FC.

But when I try to reinstall them from apps like supermanager, or astro-file (as root) I get a message telling me the applications were "not installed".

Is there a way to reinstall these?

Copy the backup .apk files from your SD card to the /system/app folder on root. You will need to use ADB or Root Explorer, then reboot your phone. They should then be restored

Interesting. How are these apps called? Something like an rc.d file?

These are system apps. The equilivant to rc.d would be init.rc and init.<machine name>.rc fill in <machine name> with your device name. I think the system apps are signed differently than other apk files that prevent them from being installed on non-oem devices.

Remember to set permissions on these files after copying them to the system\app dir.
