I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace, and basically I (stupidly) dropped it in the bath about a month ago. I dried it out by leaving it overnight on the radiator and after that it seemed fine.

Everything was still working normally except the power button no longer worked at all. I was dealing with it by just not allowing it to run out of battery but today the battery fell out, it switched off, and I can't get it to switch back on. :(

I don't know if anyone will be able to help but I thought I may as well ask. Thanks for your time.

It's worth checking whether it's a boot failure of the operating system, rather than full-on kapput. Try holding down the Home button & Power together, see if you go into Recovery Mode. And/or try Volume Down, Home & Power to see if you get into Downloading Mode.
