    You're joking, right?

You have put WiFi on, either in settings or in the widget.

What's root got to do with it?

You had automatic brightness on when it had the A in the center, the other one was on a set brightness setting, you may have hit the button by accident but it should change back if you turn off automatic brightness.

I believe if you tap that widget button again the "A" will turn off.

From memory, so I stand to be corrected. one tap is 100%, second tap is 50% then 20% then Auto.

otherwise... go to Settings/ Display/ Brightness/ uncheck the box that says Automatic

Yep Clevo89 got it :) it's just a brightness widget

    it has several settings:

    - Low
    - Medium
    - High
    - Auto

When you tap it, it will cycle through those 4 possible settings. Very handy :)
