POWERBALL WINNER

Worst thing about winning that kind of cash would be losing your anonymity. Imagine all the attention a pile of money like that would attract. Not all the attention would be upstanding either. Very unnerving. I'd probably be

Can you tick the 'no publicity' box?
Here in the UK there was a record £66 million jackpot, shared between 2 tickets. The second ticket holder has apparently not come forward, but the other winners have been cracking open the champagne. I don't doubt they'll get a lot of unwanted attention.

LMAO!!! I think you have been in China TOO long Mike!! They are SLOT Machines not FRUIT machines, lmao!!!!

However there's no other forms of legal gambling in the mainland, but mahjong and poker are played for money in many places, sometimes in the street. but there's certainly no fruit machines or anything like that. For full-on, high stakes casino gambling, Macao is really the place, the "Las Vegas" of Asia.

Actually I think it's British English vs US English...not China :p
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slot_machine
The "slot machine" term derives from the slots on the machine for inserting and retrieving coins. "Fruit machine" comes from the traditional fruit images on the spinning reels, such as lemons and cherries.

When I was younger, me and my friends often used "slot machines" or "slots" for coin-operated machines ("coin-ops") you find in an arcade, like Space Invaders, Pacman, etc. And fruit machines/slot machines in pubs, we often called them "gamblers". The UK also has something called "fixed odds machines", that's what BBC usually refers to them as. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fixed_odds_betting_terminal
We don't have these in China either. :)

However there's coin-operated games of skill, officially not gambling, where you can win money here, like these multi-player table video fishing games are very popular.

I WON !!! I doubled my money getting one correct number. Should I buy another one and come out even, or splurge on a fancy coffee? :cashdroid:
Invest it. Make it GROW. Then buy Fiji. Or some equally scrumptilious paradise.

Or become a total mad genius like me and hatch your own OG plan to become a billionaire in ten years. Chances are much greater that way.

Lets have fun. Since I'm Canadian I can't win so no sense buying a ticket but if I did buy a ticket it would be the following numbers.

9 12 20 24 28 31

Now lets see tomorrow how I would have done. lol!

You are actually allowed to win the Power Ball lottery. You just aren't allowed to bring a lottery ticket into the US. Just make sure you stay in the US until you find out whether or not you've won. You can also find a place to stash the ticket if you need to leave the US for any reason. If you won, then go back to the US and retrieve the ticket.

Would taking the ticket to Canada then coming back to the US somehow void the ticket?

That is weird.

I don't know what would happen to the ticket if the border guards actually confiscate it. I don't know what the US authorities would do if they suspected a Canadian may have won the ticket. If the winning ticket were purchased in a community very close to the Canadian/US boarder, perhaps they may suspect a Canadian may have won it. If you did win the ticket, it would not be wise to tell the border guard that you are crossing the border to claim the Power Ball lottery winnings.
