Prevent Failed Messages From Being Resent

Does anyone know how to prevent failed messages from resending later? I get poor service where I live and have messages resending to people up to a week after I originally tried to send them.

Well, I don't see a setting in the stock SMS application and a quick Google search didn't reveal anything promising .

You might want to contact your carrier and see if its possible to get a signal booster for your phone (I've read reports that some carriers might provide these for you (but they might not, too)).
