Price drop on MyTouch to $29.

Do you even know what your posting? Thats Amazon BS as if you are upgrading then its $90 and if you buy unsubsidised its $529. May I repeat that $529 thats five-hundred twenty-nine dollar. Are they smoking crack? How does phone that is still $450(though TMo unsubsidized) and $300-350(eBay/Craigslist) cost $529? BTW The $29.99 is new account with 2years contract and that is how Amazon gets paid.

o yea i paid full price on the day it was released with no contract. LOL...

Same as you bro, I don't sign contracts and also dropped $450 lol in the end they make you pay more, do the math you will see what I am talking about. But only reason I got MT4G due to my HD2 (paid $750 got it 5months before Leo1024 was legally out in USA) being stolen.

Sure is :p I take my friends and folks to free lunch all the time. Mostly just watch my girl eating lol

Here is just basic without tax and other BS added so you can see.

79.99*24=1919.76 (EM 500TuTW)
49.99*24=1199.76 (EM+ 500TuTW)

So I would pay $720 with 2years contract :O now take out $450 for the phone and its still $270, no thanks TMo ill keep that money and do some other shizznet with it. BTW this is IF the phone is free lol or add it to the 2year contract.

Is the EM+ plan with the least minutes and unlimited text / unlimited data $49.99 or $59.99? I can't find the information online since they seemed to have taken it off.

Ya TMo pulled the EM+ plan from web as only way you can get it is via Phone or Store, I had it for long time so my bill is low now.

500Min+Unlimited Text+Unlimited Web=$59.99

So basically it is a $20 difference between the plans, not $30.

$20x24=$480 savings. The phone is $425 or so to buy outright, making it a grand total of $55 saved over 2 years. Not as impressive? Besides they are offering 1500 minutes with unlimited text and web for $79.99 right now for a limited time. I might switch over tomorrow. Not sure if I want Verizon or just cheap out with Virgin Mobile, though . . .

Well I am not sure what you are talking about there buddy as price changes based on time. I was just saying when I bought the device directly I had to take in account the info I had available then to make the decision. Which was:

Here is just basic without tax and other BS added so you can see.

79.99*24=1919.76 (EM 500TuTW)
49.99*24=1199.76 (EM+ 500TuTW)

So I would pay $720 with 2years contract :O now take out $450 for the phone and its still $270

^ the info was taken that the 2years contract would still have free phone or you add more to that.

2yr($1919.76) + upgrade/lower promo price $199.99 = $2119.75
EM+(1199.76) + full device price $450 = $1649.76

So? 2119.75-1649.76 = $469.99 diff if I got it though 2yrs contact with promo price or if the device was free I still save $270.

What is the $49.99 price you listed? From what I saw it was $59.99 for the least amount of minutes with unlimited text and data for the EM+ plan. It is $80 a month for the same comparitive plan so there is a $20 difference for the same comparitive plan, unless I am wrong on the price. $20 x 24 months = $480 savings over 2 years, correct? $480-$450 for a Mytouch 4g = $0 savings over 2 years, if the phone is free ( which it is this weekend ). Does t-mobile offer early upgrades? If so, you can at least upgrade early.

The regular price is $59.99 but after discount my reduction price is $49.99/month. But yes your calculation is correct if you take in account the current price with MT4G being free then you still pay $30 LOL more. But you have to see MT4G wasn't always free and even with contract is was $199.99 when I got it as on top of that I save $240 more over 2years due to my current locked in price. Which translated in to saving $469.99 over 2years period when I bought it at full price as I stated above.

Ah ok, thank you for the clarification. I have been in research mode for the past 2 weeks trying to decide what to do. Currently I am on an ATT plan with family. I don't have a smart phone and was going to upgrade to one of their brand new 4g phones but I was not happy with the prospect of a 2gb cap and having to pay more.

I have been deciding which carrier to go with on my own. TBH my share of the bill with 2gb of data is onlty $50, I could easily pay for data overages and come out less, but it is the principal of the matter. Plus I hate ATT and I also want my own contract instead of in my sister's name. Trying to get as good credit as I can.

I think I am going to go in tomorrow and open up a T-Mobile account. I am pretty sure I am going with the MyTouch 4g over the G2. I don't care about the physical keyboard so it looks like an easy choice for me.

Thanks for the heads up on the free phone, all! :)
