RUU, goldcard, bootloader, ADB, flash, reflash, fastboot, recovery, clockwork, unrEVOked...

I'm sorry to make this thread, I know there's a lot on this topic already, but I'm confused to say the least.

All I want is to have "the pure Google experience", so some froyo or gingerbread rom or whatever is available for it would be nice.

Anyway, I Googled around and there's so many different guides saying different stuff so I just got all dizzy reading them.

Anyone want to tell me what to do step by step, normally I would just try and fail, but I don't want to brick my phone.

Some info about my phone:
Android 2.2, GSM, HBOOT 0.93.0001

Anything else you need?

Thanks!
It is now rooted, damn that was easy with unrevoked. I like!

So now I can load a rom...? I basically just want it to be like a nexus, no sense and crap like that, and that apps2sd+ sounds nice.
There's roms all over the place with tons of acronyms I have no idea what mean.
Can you help me find a stock froyo/gingerbread rom please?
An easy step by step tutorial of how to do that would be nice too.

Thanks in advance!

I don't really need any extra features. Just a stock room or as close as stock as possible.
I'm actually pretty happy with how the phone was unrooted, I just want to get rid of that sense crap that I don't use anyway, and an easy way to take screenshots.... and that apps2sd+ sounds nice as the internal memory on the desire is just ridiculous.

I did some reading and redux seems like the cleanest one of the four, is that right?
And I also need an easy step by step walkthrough.

What is a goldcard, and do I need one?
I see that a requirement is clockworkmod some places, what is this? Did I get that with the unrevoked. I feel like the biggest noob right now, haha.

ClockworkMod is a custom built Recovery
It replaces the stock (limited) Recovery

A recovery is a mini OS which lets you flash ROMs and factory reset

A custom built recovery such as ClockworkMod (CWM) or AmonRA allows you to flash unofficial ROMs, format partitions, wipe battery stats, and backup all your partitions (Nandroid)

As far as I know UnrEVOked put ClockworkMod Recovery on your device :)

I skipped that as I had already rooted when you posted that, hehe.
I read it now, but the goldcard tool is .exe and I'm on linux... and wine didn't want to run it it seems.

Hrmf.

If you have read the guide, then you should know that Goldcard is only needed if your phone is carrier branded. Otherwise, simple skip that step.

I did read it, but my head is all dizzy by all this stuff, haha.
Anyway, I was thinking whatever, if the things brick so be it.
Followed this guide:
How To: Load a Custom ROM on the HTC Desire | TheUnlockr
Thought this sounded interesting:
[ROM-AOSP GRJ22] Oxygen v2.1.3 (Latest gingerbread, clean & simple) (GSM & CDMA) - xda-developers

And boom:

I love it already... Looks so clean! Ahhh!
Now I'll test if everything works as it should. Looks good so far.

Thanks so much for the help! :)
