Problem connecting to V-Tech BT handset

HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have the sprint HTC Hero and i have the 2.1 update. Before i got the new update it was 1.5 and i had no problems with connecting my home phone which is a" V tech" blue-tooth handset in which i can sync my cell phone calls to my home blue tooth handset and it would ring to the home phone so i didn't have to carry my cell phone around while in the house. Now since the 2.1 update i can no longer get the 2 devices to work. Well the hero phone rings to the home handset but when i click on the handset to answer the cellphone call hangs up and won't connect now. Please help me fix this problem.
