Hi;

I'm new to this forum and I just got Samsung Galasy GT-15700.
I'm working on debugging some application on this device but I can't
get the "adb devices" to list this Android phone. I have spend time browsing the Forum record and following some thread for getting it works.
Here is my steps:
1. install Samsung PC Studio and Let Windows install the new hardware -
the Samsung drivers.

2. modify c:\android-sdk-windows-1.5_r3\usb_driver\x86\android_usb.inf :

under the [Google.NTx86] entry add

; SAMSUNG GALAXY
%USB\VID_04E8&PID_681C.DeviceDescRelease%=androidusb.Dev, USB\VID_04E8&PID_681C
%USB\VID_04E8&PID_681C&MI_04.DeviceDescRelease%=androidusb.Dev, USB\VID_04E8&PID_681C&MI_04
%USB\VID_04E8&PID_0FFF.DeviceDescRelease%=androidusb.Dev, USB\VID_04E8&PID_0FFF

under the [Strings] entry add
USB\VID_04E8&PID_681C.DeviceDescRelease="SAMSUNG GALAXY"
USB\VID_04E8&PID_681C&MI_04.DeviceDescRelease="SAMSUNG GALAXY Composite ADB Interface"
USB\VID_04E8&PID_0FFF.DeviceDescRelease="SAMSUNG GALAXY Bootloader"

3. Enable USB debugging of the phone setting and point the driver
search to c:\android-sdk-windows-1.5_r3\usb_driver\x86\.

The driver is successfully installed and I can see it running OK in Device
Manager. But nothing listed in "adb devices" command and when I issued
"adb logcat", I got "--waiting for device--"

Did I done some mistake here ? Or I need to upgrade the Galaxy firmware ?

The Galaxy about phone is:
Model Number : GT-15700.
Baseband version : 15700XXIJ3
Kernel version: 2.6.27
Build number: cupcake.cj14

Can anyone provide help on this. Very much appreciated.

Sorry for digging up an old thread but I have the same phone and would love to hook it up and run my apps on it. I haven't gotten as far as the thread creator on getting it to work but it seems that following the steps here won't do the trick. Wrong drivers ye said?

Has anyone gotten the Galaxy I5700 (Spica) to work?

I feel kinda bummed that I bought the one androud device that I couldn't use to test my applications with...
