Hi,

I have rooted my Milestone, not too long ago.
Now I have a problem with android market. I can't download any app from the market. The download is always stuck at "starting download" or it says "download unsuccesfull".

This is happening more than 7 days to me,now.
I have already done 3 Hard resets, and nothing helps.

I'm not sure if this problem appears because of root.
But it may be some app or something that prevents market from downloading apps.

I'm now trying to solve this problem for a pretty long time,so if anyone knows how to solve such problem, please help.

Are you on 2.2.1? If so, is it the GOT build from xda forums?

I had a similar problem, I installed GOT Open Recovery and in the menu system there is an option for a 2.2.1 market fix. This worked for me.

My phone is running official motorola's Android 2.1

any ideas???

can anyone help me here,please?

What are you using to download apps wi-fi? If the answer is "Yes" have you tried other wi-fi? Have you tried 3g? Usually routers are the reason why apps wont downlaod from the market. There needs to be a specific port opened up in some routers.

It doesn't matter what I use- WIFI or 3g. I have tried both.

-Could it be cause I switched from wifi to 3g too many times?
-Could it be cause I killed market (with taskiller) too many times?

No and no that is only temporary if that kills it. Reboot the phone and all is well again. I'm not sure what it could be easy way to check is to start over and flash the phone so you know its not an app thats doing it.

Android market works again!

-I had Google Talk app and "google talk service" and "Google talk storage" frozen with "Titanium Backup". Then I defrost them and market is actually downloading everyithing again!

But can someone explains why market wasn't downloading anything because that google talk stuff wasn't installed???

That is exactly what happens if you do things you are not supposed to do with your phone.

Where did you find information that these services can be frozen safely?

If I'm not mistaken, someone has recomended me the "Titanium Backup",here on the forum.
I never use Google Talk. I wanted to uninstall it,but I didn't,cause I thought that I may need it again someday.

I actually think that freezing apps is a great option. It makes the app dissapear from the main app drawer, but you can always get it back.

but I just had no idea that you need Google Talk for market to work.

And did "someone" tell you to freeze services despite having no clue about their function?

It's a service, not an app, and the result you got proves you were using it without realising that you were.

but I just had no idea that you need Google Talk for market to work.
Your actions are a perfect example of why phones don't come rooted as standard - a support nightmare.

I also deleted gtalk without realizing the consequences and now cannot download from the market, Is there an easy fix? I used root explorer to delete, and i do not have a back up.

Thanks in advance.
