I dont know if any of you have ever been on the internet, but if you have you'll probably stumble upon the absolute HATRED towards Justin Beiber. Now I'm no fan myself, but why do people on the internet feel the need to make fun of him so much? Anyone wanna drop there opinion.

WHOAAA! woops. But anyways you know what I mean.

    I have a few ideas:

    1. His music sucks
    2. His music and lyrics are written for him by the likes of Lionel Richie
    3. Millions of chicks love him
    4. He's rich
    5. He had it all before he was 18
    6. Everybody else wants to have items 3-5 but can't

Well, I'll take #3-5, I'll pass on making terrible music written by hacks.

everyone thought he was a prick anyway, but he confirmed it when he wrote in the visitor book at anne frank's house where she hid that he hoped she would've been a beleiber.

I'm on the Internet, and I've never really come across any real hatred of him. Is this on Facebook or something because I don't use that. He was discovered on the internet, YouTube wasn't it?

I know he's huge in China. They all seem to like him here. I've used a couple of his songs in my lessons because the students all know him, and I like to encourage them to sing English language songs.

IMO Bieber is a teenybopper. And like many teenyboppers before him, once the fad passes it can be very difficult to keep the hits coming and remain popular....just ask Donny Osmond, Leif Garrett, Shaun Cassidy or Rick Astley.

Long live Rick Astley! We'd have no Rick Rolls without him! :)

Bieber? Meh, yeah. Music product, not music.

Will be interesting to see what happens to Bieber in the next couple of years. Probably will disappear from view. And who knows he could turn up again in 20-25 years time as an Internet meme.

He's coming to China in September, playing in Beijing, Shanghai and Dalian. Sold out apparently.

Hard to say, he could disappear or he could become the next Justin Timberlake. Judging by recent behaviour, either a lot of growing up or a stint in rehab may be in order.

I'll be completely honest. I was never a fan of him but I used to respect, I've never made fun of them online talk s*** about. But lately in the news of what I've been hearing about how is not good at all. he is a jerk and arrogance person just thinks he's better than everybody just because he has a lot more money and he is famous now. I have lost all my respect for him and I don't care for him anymore.

I did recently read about his peeing in a bucket episode. Not good. This was mainstream news, and not celeb gossip or Facebook.

If he's not seen to be squeaky clean, his mostly teeny fan base will drop him very quickly.

Who knows he could be a subject for one of my lessons soon. "The rise and fall of Justin Beiber" :D

People who have no interest in something, simply do not concern themselves! People who pretend to hate something, yet are always getting involved... those people have crossed the line from simply having an opinion, to wanting to be part of what it is they claim to hate. It becomes obsession, which is bigger than love or hate.

That's not to say that, before you cross the line, you can't have a strong opinion on something. I believe Simon Cowell (X-facktor) has turned the music industry into a cheesy game show. I have not watched a single episode.

Did I contrdict myself there? He does make me angry. I watched The Stones on TV yesterday (in Hyde Park), these are not manufactured people, they still do it for the buzz despite being old fogeys, Mick struts about in his own way, now if they'd have appeared before the panel of judges on said cheesy game show what would they have said? They want choreographed programmed routines that they can sell to kids, they want it all owned & controlled by the corporations, character is something alien to them.

Imagine if Mark E Smith went before them to "sing" :D

TBH I've not heard much about her at all, well not since the "Hannah Montana" stuff.

Was only because of her father she became a celeb in the first place wasn't it?

What?! Middle Class Mick and his (truly atrocious) mockney accent not manufactured

I mean, the music industry operators weren't nearly so slick back in the sixties and the Stones music was great - I was a fan of most everything they did until the mid-80s - but they were totally a marketing creation: basically, the anti-Beatles - the 'bad boys' to contrast with the goody two shoes Beatles.

Truth is, the Beatles were just as bad: famously the police used to wait for John, Paul and co to leave the party before going in to bust Mick, Brian and co.

It was ever thus: Elvis was originally a marketing creation to sell black music to a white audience - at least, in his early days. Later, he was a way to sell gambling to middle Americans. He was just as much The King, though.

But did they have to go through a panel of judges on a game show to become a band? That's my definition of manufactured. It's a bit different to jumping on the bandwagon (lol) of an existing, successful band for profit.

I think the music "industry" is getting desperate, trying to create the 'next big thing' for their own profit. It's bad enough that they seem only to aim at the late teens group (personally I'd be aiming for the most disposable income), but I guess that happened with the Beetles etc with teen mass hysteria created all the hype... & of course, people grow up with their music.

You can tell the manufactured artists, after a few years they suddenly stop - the people actually doing the work for them have moved on to something else!

I see nothing much has changed when it comes to manufactured artists or bands, e.g The Monkees, The Archies, Were still listening to them now as much as we did then. 40 years time we'll still be playing Gangnam Style or whatever in clubs and KTVs.

Most people i know listen to The Carpenters, nothing new here, especially given that Karen died in 1983. But that's real music IMO, not manufactured. Celine Dion is extremely popular as well.

He wouldn't last 60 seconds in the 'hood without his bodyguard.

I don't like anyone who believes they're any better than anyone else.

So what if he has a metric ton of money? Does that make him any better than you or me? No, it just means he has more money.
