    Device: Nexus One
    Carrier: STC
Country / Language: Saudi Arabia / English
    OS : Android 2.2.1 build number: FRG83D

I have a problem with updating my Nexus One to GB, I still haven't gotten a system update alert. So I tried to upgrade it manually, but it wasn't working either. I already did a factory data reset, but it is still not working. :(
This is what it said when I clicked "apply sdcard:update.zip":

    -- Install from sdcard...
    Finding update package...
    Opening update package...
    Verifying update package...
    E:failed to verify whole-file signature
    E: signature verification failed
    Installation aborted

Can somebody please help me with this, I tried everything I could.

Make sure the file is name update.zip, and not update.zip.zip. Sounds obvious but happens more often than you'd think with windows 7. Make sure it's placed on the root of your SD card, and the file is not corrupt.

    Thanks for the reply volsey,
I checked that the update was named update.zip, when i transferred it to my phone I named it update, and then I checked the name with the astro file manager on my phone and it was update.zip. So that should not be the problem.
I also placed it on the root of my SD card.
How do I know whether the file is corrupted or not? :p

You might not have the right radio or kernel flashed. Unfortunately I'm not the most knowledgeable about that stuff, so you're going to have to do some searching on your own.

Check which radio and kernel you have under Phone Info setting, refer to this thread at XDA
[ROM] GRI40 (2.3.3) system dump + unmodified stock ROM + rooted ROM, etc. - xda-developers

There's also another guide/how-to about updating to GB for N1 somewhere at XDA. Just know that there's a larger risk when flashing radios vs. flashing roms and other junk.
