Hello,

I have some problems with my gio after upgrade it to 2.3.3 gingerbread with kies.
It seems faster, battery can hold longer, but I have 2 very annoying problems.
After I press the power button or home button when screen is off the screen unlock display shows only after 1-2 sec lag. I also have this lag when I would like to finish a call, when I put the phone away from my face there is a 1-2 sec long lag while the screen displays. I have already found probably its a bug with 2.3.3, but I want to ask you if it can be solved some way, or if it cant be solved, then how could I downgrade back to froyo.
Thanks in advance.

The delay when pressing the power button also occurs here. I hadn't noticed, because I'm a recent owner and immediately upgraded.

I don't know how to downgrade, though.

I am also having same problems:

- Pressing home key makes screen appear after lag
- To reply to a text message, tapping the text box also lags sometimes for 4-5 seconds

I guess time to run some custom ROM

its same with me guys but i think its the problem with new version maybe we have older version of 2.3.3 the new official 2.3.3 is better dont know from where we update to the official version of 2.3.3 or it can be solved if we update to 2.3.4, do anyone know how to update to 2.3.4?

Yea I'd like to know this as well... How to update to 2.3.4?

I bought my Galaxy Gio like 3 weeks ago while my brother bought his Galaxy Mini 2 weeks ago. His phone got pre-installed with 2.3.4 and it has no lag problems.

lets post various threads through out web so anyone can tell us how to update to 2.3.4 if anyone of us know how to update we will post the method here in this thread.

I recently upgraded my OS from froyo to gingerbread via kies (official update). Before the update the gps was working just fine but now it doesnt seem to be working at all. The Gps icon keeps blinking. Are there any fixes for this? Thx in advance.

Solved: The fix is to actually activate data services via your network operator. It turns out that wifi alone is not enough since your phone operator has some dedicated servers for satellites queries..
Hope this helps. Happy New year everyone :)

I guess this is rooting the phone? If so, I'd rather wait until I can update through the Software update button on the phone... But it never finds an update unfortunately :p

try it its not rooting i have done it and my phone is updated and its without rooting i can root it anytime
