    Hey Guys,

just wondering if anyone else noticed problems with audible alerts not working?

Several times over the last week I've noticed the phone vibrate when a twitter notification or a sms arrived but without it giving the associated audible alert.

All volume levels are on and turned up.

I've been scouring the forum but all i can find is maybe that the phone had an issue with the SD card not dis-mounting properly after I linked it to the PC (this is possible although only one of those 2 audible alerts is a custom ringtone)

just curious if anyone else has seen anything like this

    cheers eske

  2. Have you checked that your notification level is set to the same level as your ringing volume? That happened to me

@robobobo good suggestion but I'm using the audiomanager widget and I'm positive the sound levels are good for notification

So can you set ringer and notificaiton volumes to different levels?

Yes - all notifications are set to max "alarm", "music", "system" and "voice call"

"alerts" volume seems to be tied to "ringer" volume ie increase or decrease ringer vol and it does the same with alerts

the strange thing is this is an intermittent issue - somethimes it works somethimes it doesn't but I haven't been able to work out why

    I'm confused (doesn't take much!)

In Sounds & Display, I only see mention of Ringer and Notificaitons... not Alert.

The only volume controls are for Ringer and Media.

I'm using an app called audiomanager - it displays (in a widget) exactly how all those volumes are set.
what it calls "alerts" is really "notifications"

Got you! So, an app is needed if you want more control. Thanks :)

I was backing up my sd card earlier - and I "properly" ejected the drive when done, but I guess it didn't dismount properly and the next thing

my phone rings but I'm not getting my usual ringtone and it's playing a podcast I'd downloaded as the ringtone???

same with sms alerts and reminder alerts and twitter alerts - all different mp3 files to what I had originally set as the alerts.

anyone seen anything like this before?
