problems with my mytouch slide

my does the same thing and it constantly loses signal and drops my calls.. I have already had 3 new phones a new sim card! im so frustrated. i think im switching to the 4g version..

Im on my 3rd phone!! I thought it was just me! my phone works for a month then it takes a crap !! I got my first one in july.. I have never dropped them but they do the same thing.. The store rep said they are gonna switch models for me! im thinking of trying the 4g version but it doesnt have the keyboard!! very frustrating especially when its your only phone!!

That is a "known issue" call t-mobile and they will fix it although the fix seems temporary.

try to restart your phone, if not call t-mobile and report it.

yeah.. my phone is having the same problem.. i went into the store today they said it might have something to do with my memory... but when i slide the keyboard out it shorts out and i have to restart the phone in hopes it works.. have you found a solution? i called it the casino effect.. haha frustrating.. other than lately.. the phone has been problem free

I just booted up my replacement. It decided it didnt want to send any messages unless I tried resending 600 times. So far so good...wieerd thing is this one only has swype and touch input and no dragon input, or whatever the third virtual keyboard was called.

my touch slide is agrevatine me lately..
1.the texts r going all out of wack...
2-constantly loosimg signal.
3-while iam texting some one it just cuts me short and send me back to the main menu

In response to the original post, i was having the exact same problems. Someone on this forum or another suggested cleaning out old txts. I noticed mine started with the problems when i got a media text(MMS) that wouldnt download but just kept trying to dl. I deleted this text and problems went away. cleaned out some other old ones just to do it but those were all months old. i dont believe in coincidence so I'm saying that the undownloadable media text was the problem.

so try emptying any old media text or all old text if you wanna make sure.

I am approaching my 8th or 9th...I have lost count. Before this one the previous 3 came defective out of the refurb box. I love my fone but I hate it. It does all the things I have been reading (freezing, losing signal, text disappears after typing, etc) This newest one was perfect. It felt brand new and I was promised that Froyo was to solve all the freezing issues...it has so far but a new problem arose. The screen started doing the misalignment thing when I would close it while a text was still sending...that advanced to always doing it...then to going completely black upon closing...and now it's just completely black.. the phone is on but I cant answer a call. I have been using the genius button just to make a call - the next one is to Tmobile for yet another fone. They swear up and down its not the phone yet I have read these posts and see that it is NOT me, and it IS the phone. Yet they have no alternative phone to send me...really? My friend just got a brand new sensation as a replacement to a MyTouch 4g that was lost - but I dont want to pay any MORE money to get a new phone when I have been complaining about this model since I got it...sigh...

I have no idea why I am getting the name as carbon... Also it crashed a couple of times when I was just trying to open my messages. This is irritating. And I have experienced the dropped calls so many times. I thought it might just be a bad signal in my area. Looking at this forum, I think it might as well be a defect in the phone. I called the tech support and they told me to check if my phone crashes without the memory card. So I cant use the mem card for two days... I had done a hard reset too. And I thought HTC mytouch 4g was my dream phone... It worked so well for the first two days....

And yeah, my phone gets overheated soon too... Damn!

Ok so I've had my slide for almost a year now and I've loved the thing to death. My sim card fried around the 3rd month of having it but that wasn't a big deal. Replacing the sim card actually helped with the call dropping, phone randomly restarting, and other small issues. The other day, I went to flip my phone open and the screen went black. Anyone have that happen to them? Cause this sucks. I got the phone for the keyboard and its kind of hard to type with the keyboard if the screen is blacked out..Lol. The only way I've been able to 'fix' this is by locking the screen, closing the keyboard, reopening to keyboard, and unlocking the phone a few hundred times until the screen comes back on. So yeah, anyone know how to fix this or should I just deal with it until I can go get a new phone?

Yeah my, my touch slide is doing the same thing with the screen going black when i slide it open. I had my brother (who knows about technology when i know nothing) fix it by doing a reset of some sort and three weeks later it happened again.... in fact it got even worse when it does turn on the screen is really "messed up" for lack of a better term. I have had my phone for a year and a half and have loved it until this. I didn't get insurance on it and my warranty is up so i'm a little irritated to say the least....

I have had ALOT of problems with this phone. I have had it replaced 1 time. I have been told to master reset more times than I can count! It drops calls and has so many other issues! Today was the last straw for the last several weeks it has told me I am out of memory. I kept deleting things and it still said I had none. I went to master reset it yet AGAIN and this time it wouldn't let me. I ended up going into a store to get help and the guy informed me that since I have insurance on it I had the choice to change phone since there had been so many problems with mine. So I am getting a different phone!

I have a MyTouch 4g Slide, and I am having a problem with viewing the contact name whenever I recieve a text.

For example, "Bob" will send me a text, yet when I recieve it, it does not say "Bob" sent the message, it says "(1)33335458121" sent the message. If I go to my contact list and click on "Bob", and then go to messages, I see that he has sent the message to me. Why do I have this problem? Does anyone else have this problem?

Basically, the sender's name does not pop up, but their number does. I have tried everything, but why does this happen? How can it be solved? Please let me know ASAP. It is bugging me, and affecting my work.

Both my wife and I have gone through 2 of these phones.....each!

My second one is only 7 months old, and has a dead screen. The phone is USELESS!

Both T-mobile and HTC are completely USESLESS, and want me to BUY a new phone. F-that.

I hope both companies go out of business!

I am moving to an iPhone.

i love the phone.
unfortinuatly it has been very annoying lately.

my phone:
-wont let you click the middle of the phone. like it doesn't work towards the middle.
-sometimes turning off the phone when i pull out the keyboard.
- looses Bars and wont come back till the phone is rebooted. then looses them instantly again (this has never been a problem. till today.
-randomly looses wireless (luckily turning wireless off then on fixes it)

those are some of them. i know there is more.

this phone would be great. probably one of the best phones if it just worked.
