Help Problems with proximity sensor?

When I'm in a call, I move the phone away from my face to hit a button on the number pad, and the display will come back on - for a second or two, and then go black again. I may see it come back on in another couple seconds, after which it may go black again. This seems entirely random right now. Is this a known problem with the proximity sensor? Thanks, AzJazz

Yes. I had to replace my droid the first day for this problem. My screen would go black the second I made a call and would not come back until the other person ended the call. Mine worked ok in low light conditions but outside or in well lit rooms the screen went black when making a call.

Replacing the Droid fix the problem? That would bite, since I just put a Ghost Shield on.

i think the sensor is on the top right ...just to the right of the front speaker...make sure your finger is not around that when you take it away from your face.

Thanks ... I'll watch for that, and see if it makes a difference. AzJazz
