Hello all, so I've had the TB since launch and it's getting to the time of boredom. Therefore I'm looking to root. I had gingerbread running on my old Eris and absolutely love pure android the way Google intended it (at this moment regretting signing a new two year contract instead of jumping ship for a nexus s)

Anyways after searching through xda it seems as though majority of the ROMs out are all sense based. Which ROMs, if any, are pure gingerbread that work smoothly with minimal bugs? Thanks in advanced.

Hmmm, must have have dug deep enough ;) Pure Gingerbread is available on the TB in the form of OMGB. AOSP is also available with either CM7, OMFGB or Liquid Thunderbread. Take a look at the Thunderbolt ROM List that is a sticky in this All Things Root section

Unfortunately Buffalo doesn't have 4G yet anyways :(. I did look over that thread slightly. What is your opinion of it? Solid everyday ROM?

I personally have been running with the version with more enhansements OMFGB, it is stable. I have had issues with Flash on every AOSP rom I have run, I think if you use 10.2 it will work. I have not run OMGB as I like to do a little more customization than vanilla android allows.

I ran omgb and it worked great. It was fun for a few days but no matter what I try I always end up back on cm7 ;)

I run a senseless sense on SynergyROM. I can't stand sense.

My issue is more on the customization end of things. I like the way that most of it looks and most of it seems to be real useful, but I want to be able to adjust certain things and you cant in sense.

Pure google just seems so much smoother. However my stock TB runs just fine with very little to complain about. I just really wanna do away with sense. And wireless tether would be splendid too. I just don't wanna jump into a GB rom if its just gonna give me more bugs than I have now

you can always flash the rooted mr2 ota rom and go back to basically where you are now if you dont like whatever roms that you try. its exactly the same firmware, but with root access so you can wifi tether, among other things :)

to me there is absolutely no disadantage to being rooted, even if you dont like using custom roms. but my opinion may be biased ;)

I use golauncher and I love it. Go runs smoother than sense and pwns lpp all day long.

Just to correct you, nothing will ever "own" LP+ because all these 3rd party launchers are based off of LP+ and what Fede brought to the table.

He may have brought it to the table, but lpp doesnt run anywhere near as cleanly as GOLauncher does.

Sounds like its been a while for you. Lol. Golauncher has worked better than lpp since day one however, not to mention that they actually care about their product to actually update it when there are issues. Last time I used lpp, all I got were fcs and the version hasn't changed. Lpp is garbage.

No offense bro, but there are superior products other than the ones you stand by and tell everyone ad nauseam how great they are. I think you're a cool dude and I'm not trying to shit on you or start a beef, but you sound foolish sometimes the way you defend things you think are "the best" to the death.

LP+ is the furthest thing from garbage, just because it didn't work properly for you doesn't mean it's a POS. Such is Android and our fickle phones.

If I was wrong, so many people wouldnt be migrating to better things. Anything that constantly FC's, you cant REALLY customize(Even if you buy it), is imo garbage. Fede pays ZERO attention to LPP. Thats evident by his lack of updates. Its not like it has no issues or works great. It works like crap.

I dont take it as you try to start shit, so no worries. We have a difference of opinion. I think you have less issues with it because you only use like two pixels :p lol.

There's really no need to update an app that there's nothing wrong with. I do agree with you in essence, Fede has forgotten about LP+ because his new baby is Uber and once again it's almost a perfect app, but LP+ was just updated a few months ago. I'm not sure why you have so many FC's, but that's pretty uncommon. If we put up a poll in the general Android section I'd be willing to bet LP+ would double GO AFA users. Again, to each his own, I just think calling it trash is beyond ignorant.

And, yes, I don't have much on my screens, IMO less is more. Again, to each his own

Eh...if it was just me, I would understand, but most people that Ive talked to have issues with it and end up switching to ADW or GOLauncher. Youre right though, to each their own. :) Well just have to agree to disagree. haha.

ive had no issues with LPP+ either. only reason i dont use it is im stuck on the trasparent app drawer,so i stick with ADW.

granted it has been awhile, but i tried GO and wasnt impressed. nothin wrong with it,but it certainly wasnt any better than the other launchers either.

this is why android is better then iOS... there are choices ;) you love GO and thats great but there are many ways t skin the cat here :D

I gotta say after using launcher pro for a while went back to go, and it was my launcher of choice, it just seems to have bugs that I haven't noticed before. Issues rendering wallpaper and icons. Before I was in the go launcher is better crowd, not so much anymore

I like GO personally, but I do keep a backup of LP on my SD. Both ran just fine, but I find myself sticking with GO for the most part.

Feels like they took the best parts of LP and ADW and combined them into one.

I do wish more themer's (if that's a word) gave it love. I hate installing a CM theme only to see half the menu options themed and the rest grey...
