I just received my moto x, and it seems to have a purple haze effect whenever something black is moving on the screen. Is this a defect or is it normal?
I believe this is an issue with AMOLED screens. I've noticed it on my GNex and my MotoX, both of which have Super AMOLED screens.
Welcome to AF, chris66green! One way to be sure that your particular phone screen is not defective is to take it into the service provider and compare it to the display model. If they react the same then I would say it is just the type of screen they have, but if yours was bought new and is defective, it should still be under manufacturer warranty, and you can get it switched out for a different one.
