Help put the shortcut on the main widget

is there a way to create a shortcut on the widget for any app that you have downloaded.

Like i downloaded a newspaper app..now I want this shortcut to be on my home page so that I can directly click on it to access the newspaper.

Just press the icon for a few seconds and a copy should be made to the home page if I am understanding what you want to do.

that is what I do on my android phone...but the same thing does not work on the tablet (flytouch superpad III)
