Hi All..I have confusion about amount of RAM Galaxy S has. I have read and known that it has 512mb RAM, but I see a lot of posts wherein RAM shows only 256mb. Any idea why that is?

Some comments on other forums show, that Android 2.1 has limitation to access only 256mb and full potential of phone will unleash only when Samsung upgrardes it to 2.2 (Froyo). Any thoughts would be great.

Yup, when Froyo comes around you'll get the full 512mb. Up until then, you'll only see 256.

As far as I know the bit about Android 2.1 only handling 256MB RAM is just a myth. Otherwise I wouldn't see 325MB RAM as max on my phone. People are probably just fooled by that some of the RAM is dedicated to the OS and therefor not shown as it's not available for the apps.

FroYo might require less RAM to be dedicated to the OS though.
