    I just got the Motorolla Droid and am trying to set up my Purdue webmail account but it's not working. I think it's an IMAP account. I have the server name as purdue.edu (and have tried webmail.purdue.edu and boilermail.purdue.edu) the port as 143 and security type as none. It says that it's unable to connect to the server. I've basically tried every other option too (the POP and the exchange) and same thing. What am I doing wrong?

    Check with their IT dept ... they can give you the proper setting for POP or IMAP for their servers ...

    Hey, don't know if you figured this out yet... I just bought an Aria yesterday, and after a long time spent searching, I found a webpage on the iTap website (for Purdue students) that tells you how to set up webmail on android.

    Help Detail

    If you scroll up and down, you'll find everything you need to know... I'll list what I had to put in for my phone, your stuff might be different.

    Email Address: *****@purdue.edu
    Password: ________

    Incoming Settings::

    Protocol: IMAP
    Email address: same as above
    Username: the part before the '@' in the email address
    Password: ____
    IMAP Server: yourusername.mail.purdue.edu
    Security Type: SSL
    Server Port: 993

    Outgoing Settings::

    Login Required: Check the box
    - repeat the username/password
    STMP server: stmp.purdue.edu
    Security type: SSL
    Server Port: 465

    From here, give your account a name of your choosing. It asks for your name... I put my full name in, just in case there's some verification issue. Hit 'finish setup'.

    When I was setting it up, it would keep saying something like "We can't find your server" or whatever, but I just told it to continue, and after I hit 'finish setup', my mail popped right up.

    Hope this helps any Boilermaker/other that's looking for it.
