Question about app problem on hero

[BMondo]

When I bought my hero (sprint) there was a calander application already installed. I have been using that for my calander and it has been great but recently when an event reminder popps up or something else that uses the calender a message pops u and it tells me to force close. this is what the message says
The application com.providers.calander
(process com.htc calander) has stopped
unexpectedly. Please try again.
Force Close

Can some please tell me what this is and how to fix it.
