Root Question about Nandroid Backups

I am thinking about trying some different roms out and I am currently using Tickerguys CM7.

If I were to make a nandroid backup and flash a new rom, make another backup, could I bounce from rom to rom with just doing the restore feature?

Yes. They will be however they were when you made the backup.

Ok thanks, one more question about that:

Do I have to wipe and do everything like a normal flash before doing a nandroid restore?

I usually do, but I don't think it is needed. It only takes a minute to wipe the stuff though.
