question about syncing

When I am not using my mobile internet I turn it off. I also have auto sync off too, to save battery. Is it possible for the phone to auto sync all the applications that I want syncing once I turn the mobile internet back on?

Ive notice that with the weather/clock widget on my HTC, if you set it to auto sync every hour, the auto sync feature must be on. However, if auto sync is off, the widget wont auto update, I have to do it manually each time.

Is there a solution for this?

I dont know of any other app, but widgetsoid allows you to make a "sync" toggle. clicking it syncs everything on the phone on one go.

Any data toggle will do this. Leave auto sync on at all times, and when you turn mobile data back on anything that has been waiting to sync will sync.

As for widgets, there are loads of different ones. My favorite is Extended Controls.

I read a thread on here that even if auto sync is on and mobile data is off, apps can still access the internet thus using battery power. Thats the only reason why I turn auto sync off.

How are you toggling mobile data off? Most widgets that do this do it by modifying the APN which would make it physically impossible for anything to connect to the internet.
